Ignite - taster days

Ignite is run as part of the ministry of GEAR (the Group for Evangelism And Renewal). It provides local churches with a basic introduction to the person and work of the Holy Spirit, drawing on abbreviated material from the 'Gateways' Dunamis retreat.

Ignite is a one-day event incorporating some of the characteristic components of Dunamis: worship, teaching, discussion and prayer. The core teaching focuses on:

• Looking at how the Holy Spirit was active in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.
• Understanding the variety of ways that the Holy Spirit works in our lives and ministry.
• Identifying the ideas and attitudes that may block us from receiving all that God has for us.
• Exploring how we can engage in ministry through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Local Participation

Local people are encouraged to be involved as much as possible in setting up an Ignite event. Areas for participation include: prayer cover; musicians for worship; hospitality (providing a welcome and refreshments). A local Event Coordinator will be needed to deal with publicity and be a contact point.
